Life Studies

Drawn direct, allowing the model to settle into a natural position, rather than a rigid “nude” pose. Christopher works with some wonderful models possessing natural talent. The aim is to draw quickly, with careful observation, creating simple rhythmic lines of varying intensity. Underlying this exercise is deep respect for the model, and the uniqueness of every human.

Cottesloe Paintings

Living near the ocean, Christopher's fascination is with the beach scape, and also the fast disappearing older dwellings. Beach shacks have figured prominently in 2 past exhibitions. The artist paint with a highly keyed palette.

 

 

 

Beyond the Trans Siberian

A tour from Beijing, through Mongolia and Siberia by rail to St Petersburg, led to an exhibition in 2007. The “cubist” influenced oils, use a collage effect of kaleidoscopic visual detail. Reminiscent of bygone travel posters.
